Recruitment of new Teachers for the Department of Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics (DM) of NOVA School of Science and Technology is conduction an open search for potential candidates for future academic career opportunities that will arise in 2025.

Potential candidates who wish to enter the following university careers will be able to choose the following scientific fields:

• Algebra;
• Complex, Real and Functional Analysis;
• Numerical analysis;
• Combinatorial and non-linear optimization
• Control;
• Mathematics Education;
• Differential Equations;
• Statistic;
• Geometry and Topology;
• Operations Research;
• Fundamentals of Mathematical Logic;
• Actuarial Mathematics;
• Discrete Mathematics, Number Theory and Combinatorics;
• Financial Mathematics;
• Probability and Stochastic Processes;
• other subareas of mathematics.

For candidates who have completed their Ph.D. They must send the documents identified below to lsn.santos@fct.unl.pt.

- Curriculum Vitae (identifying ORCID; “ResearcherID” and/or ”Scopus Author ID);

- Motivation letter, explaining the reason for this expression of interest, what are the main areas of interest in research and teaching;

- Contact details (including email address) of two people, academics, researchers or professionals who can be contacted to send letters of recommendation that prove the candidate's scientific, pedagogical and professional qualities.

Candidates must be fluent in Portuguese and English.

The recruitment process begins with this open search, followed by an internal process of approving vacancies that will be announced internationally, followed by the final application and selection process.
